A Third-Generation Teen Mother Who Refused to Be a Statistic.
I didn't grow up with a roadmap. I grew up with responsibility.
As a third-generation teen mother, I raised three children alone, while earning degrees, building a career, and refusing to let circumstance write my story.
I became the first in my family to earn an Associate's degree, then a Bachelor's in Information Systems Technology, then an MBA specializing in Project Management. Later, doctoral coursework in Organizational Development with a focus on Leadership Development, all while working full-time and parenting.
I maintained a 3.8 GPA while the world was demanding I fail.
That season didn't just give me resilience. It gave me a master class in planning under pressure, executing with limited resources, and leading when no one is watching. That same discipline now lives inside everything I build at JoyTutor®.

AMERICAN EXPRESS
Led a $117M technology portfolio spanning Mobile, Web, and Digital Core Services, overseeing financial close processes, vendor relationships, resource allocation, and delivery across complex, cross-functional teams.
UNITEDHEALTH GROUP
Managed end-to-end delivery of clinical analytics, data warehouse, BI, infrastructure, and government compliance programs — with team sizes exceeding 70 on- and offshore resources.
TEACH FOR AMERICA
Managed the TFA.org website and custom applications portfolio, led four direct reports, and built departmental-wide program management practices from the ground up.
