A Designer of Courage and Community: Elle Stovall, founder and creative director of Elle Stovall, has sewn her way from self-taught sketches to fashion mentor, brand builder, and cultural catalyst. Raised in Chicago with South Korean roots, Elle followed her passion and built a fashion legacy rooted in empowerment.
This year, she is being honored with the Resilience Award at the 2025 JoyTutor Celebrations of Courage Awards. Her journey reflects courage, creativity, and commitment—now realized not only through her designs, but also in her newly opened storefront, House of Stovall.

From Sketches to a Seat at the Table
Elle’s childhood illustrations led her to self-teach sewing and eventually create garments that blended faith, culture, and confidence. She began with dance and clergy wear, but her true calling emerged in ready-to-wear and custom fashion. Her artistry caught the eye of the industry in new ways when she was selected for the prestigious Christian Siriano Fashion Bootcamp, a transformative mentorship that pushed her creative boundaries and elevated her design perspective.
Fashion with Purpose and Representation
Elle’s brand, “Your Style… Your Voice,” is more than a tagline—it’s her mission. Through bold collections, she uplifts women and men who embrace individuality and self-expression. Her designs have appeared on runways from New York Fashion Week to Chattanooga Fashion Expo, and in 2024, she partnered with Neiman Marcus Atlanta to debut a capsule collection celebrating BIPOC designers.
Mentorship Woven Into Every Stitch
As a mentor and teacher, Elle leads The Elite Sewciety, a virtual community where she trains and empowers emerging designers and sewists. For her, fashion isn’t just about fabric and seams—it’s about confidence, opportunity, and passing knowledge to the next generation.
House of Stovall: A Storefront for Legacy
Elle’s newest chapter is the opening of her very own storefront, House of Stovall. This space is not just a boutique; it is a cultural hub where custom and ready-to-wear pieces meet community, mentorship, and artistry. It embodies her resilience, her vision, and her dedication to creating a tangible legacy.
Honoring Elle’s Strength and Vision
At the JoyTutor Celebrations of Courage Awards, we proudly honor Elle Stovall with the Resilience Award. Her journey—from overcoming doubt to designing with distinction, from Christian Siriano’s bootcamp to Neiman Marcus, and now to her own storefront—is proof that resilience isn’t just surviving the storm; it’s creating beauty and legacy on the other side of it.
